I have playing guitar for 2 years now and I’m in my metal stage, and I want to learn some good riffs.

-Check out Avenged Sevenfold…they have killer guitar solos. They are amazing. Almost every song by them has guitar solos, my favorite songs by them are Almost Easy, Afterlife and Scream.
-Five Finger Death Punch is also amazing…good songs are Ashes, The Bleeding, Death Before Dishonor, and Stranger Than Fiction.
-Bullet For My Valentine also has great guitar solos. My favorite song by them are Tears Don’t Fall, Scream Aim and Fire, and Waking the Demon.
-Slipknot before I Forget and Psychosocial are pretty good too.
-Drowning Pool, Let the Bodies Hit the Floor, and Sinner, and their new song sorry I can’t think of the name :x .
-Saliva is one of my favorite bands some songs are…Carry on, Family Reunion, Click Click Boom, and Your Disease.
-Killswitch Engage…The Element of One, Numbered Days, Desperate Times, Self Revolution.
-Underoath is amazing…It’s Dangerous Business Walking Out Your Front Door, Writing on the Walls, and Down Set Go.
    -Disturbed…Stricken, Stupidfy.
    -Metallica…One, Cyanide.
-I know they aren’t really heavy metal or anything, but Theory of a Dead Man(Bad Girlfriend), Papa Roach(pretty much any song), Rise Against(The Good Left Undone, But Tonight We Dance), Seether(Rise Above This, Breakdown, Fake it, Gasoline), Korn(Twisted Transister, Freak on a Leash), Atreyu(Falling Down), Three Days Grace(Pain, Riot, I Hate Everything About You), and Rob Zombie songs all have some really good guitar skills.

My friends that play the guitar are big on Avenged Sevenfold, Five Finger Death Punch, Theory of a Dead Man, and SlipKnot. But mostly Avenged Sevenfold.
Good luck with you guitar playing.
I hope I helped at least a little?

is hybrid theory by linkin park a downloadable album for rockband 1, rockband 2, or guitar hero 4?

  6. Hybrid says:

Whole album? No. Only a handful of songs have been done.

“No More Sorrow” is downloadable for Guitar Hero III, RB 2 has “One Step Closer” already on it. Guitar Hero 4 comes with “What I’ve Done.” And Rock Revolution has “Given Up,” but that game sucks so don’t get it.

One of the best things to do is read reviews and rent some games to see if you like them….and if you like them buy it at a game store or if u dont return it and dont buy one..Hope this helps…i reccommend the Wii its TONs of fun and cheaper then the ps3……alot of people i talk to(around 300 from school, sports programs, game masters, and friends )
say Wii is worth the price of the system…and that they are satisfied…and are waiting for more and more great games to come out…Ps3 is also a good product if you would like to get that…..but for you my great gaming friend i reccommend Wii cuz there are so many good reviews on it (and its cheaper)
also worth the value of how much you pay for it…

I apologize for the length of this question, but every time I try to ask this I get the same answers. I like mostly hard rock. In the hard rock genre, I vastly prefer the deep voiced singers to the higher pitched ones. I like screaming but only if it is inserted in the song strategically for passion and intensity. I don’t like songs that are all or mostly screaming. Due to getting the same answers over and over again, here is a list of the more popular bands I enjoy. Please give me the names of LESSER KNOWN bands that I may not have heard of and some good songs they sing. Also, if there is a band that only has one or two good songs, I’m fine with that. I just need some new music. Thank you.

    Bands I love:
    Adelitas Way
    Breaking Benjamin
    David Cook
    A Day to Remember
    Disturbed
Evans Blue (more the old singer but the new guy is ok too)
    One Less Reason
    Papa Roach
    Rise Against
    Skillet
    Three Days Grace

Bands that are hit or miss (some really good songs but mostly forgettable):
    30 Seconds to Mars
    Alter Bridge
    Crossfade
    Daughtry
    Down and Above
    Egypt Central
    Linkin Park
    My Chemical Romance
    My Darkest Days
    Nickelback
    Rains
    Red
    Saliva
    Seether
    Shinedown
    Sick Puppies
    Sixx A.M.
    Theory of a Deadman
    Trapt

Bands that I do not like and why:
All That Remains (too much screaming)
Coheed and Cambria (too high pitched)
    Janus (same as above)
    Killswitch Engage (too much screaming)
Muse (That guy is so annoying)
Slipknot (the ballads are ok but there’s too much screaming)

Ok, so hopefully that’s enough to go off of. As you can see, I’m not really into pop or any form of metal. I’m somewhere in between. Also, I can’t stand classic rock. Every now and then I find an ok song. But in general, I don’t like it at all. As already mentioned, I like deep, raspy voiced singers with powerful and distinguishable backing instruments. I always decide Best Answer so please put some effort into it. Thank you all in advance :)
Sorry Tim, but those were three of the worst bands I’ve ever heard.

(I’ve put a star beside the ones I highly recommend for you):

Foo Fighters – Any of their songs really :D

*Avenged Sevenfold – AMAZING band! :D Their best songs are Nightmare, Bat Country, Welcome To The Family and Beast And The Harlot.

*Metallica – The Black Album = Great album. Enter Sandman, Dont Tread On Me, Sad But True, Nothing Else Matters, My Friend Of Misery and Of Wolf And Man are the best songs on there. They’re a metal band, but give them a try.

*Fearless Vampire Killers – They’re a new band. They sound a bit like Panic! At The Disco and My Chemical Romance.

*Paramore – Awesome female fronted band. Check out their albums Riot! and Brand New Eyes.

Evanescence – Another female fronted band. I’m not a nu-metal fan, but they’re great.

NoFX – Great band all round. One of the most influential bands of their genre.

*Green Day – I’m suprised they arent on your list! Check out their albums Dookie and American Idiot.

Black Stone Cherry – Just try them, I think you’ll like them :D

*Black Veil Brides – Check out their newest album Set The World On Fire! They have some really great songs! Try: Coffin, Rebel Love Song Fallen Angels and Saviour. Andy sings more, but does screamo too in most songs. You’ll either love them or hate them. I have a feeling you’ll love them xD

*The Blackout – Any song from their new album Hope. My favorites on there are You’re Not Alone, Higher and Higher and Hope.

*Biffy Clyro – Great hard rock band. Try anything from their albums Puzzle and Only Revolutions. My favorite songs by them are That Golden Rule (which in my opinion is one of the greatest hard rock songs EVER!) and Mountains.

The Fray – They’ve got some great ballads. Try How To Save A Life and Be Still.

Falling In Reverse – Good balance of singing and screamo.

I also think you should give Alter Bridge more of a chance. They are THE best hard rock band there is! I wanna recommend some songs for you to listen to from each album:
    From One Day Remains:
Find The Real (awesome heavy song!)
Open Your Eyes (puts me in a good mood xD)
Burn It Down (one of the best songs on the album)
    Metalingus (heavy!!!)
In Loving Memory (the best ballad in the world :’D)

    From Blackbird:
Ties That Bind (best intro ever! great song :D )
    Come To Life (really heavy!)
    Buried Alive (also really heavy!)
Rise Today (the ultimate rock song)
Blackbird (AB’s longest song.. great ballad, musically genius, Myles holds a note sequence for 31 seconds, best solo ever… amazing!)
    Watch Over You (great ballad)
White Knuckles (one of my favorites :D heavy!!)

    From ABIII:
Slip To The Void (musically genius, with a great but creepy into)
Isolation (just a really great song!)
Ghosts Of Days Gone By (ballad like at the beginning, but the ending is super heavy!)
Wonderful Life (great ballad, vocally impressive… one of the best songs on the album!)
I Know It Hurts (another one of my favorites! Love the guitar in this song!)
Breathe Again (hidden gem of the album :D )
Life Must Go On (great meaning :D )
Words Darker Than Their Wings (One of Myles’ most vocally impressive songs. Mark sings co-lead vocals on this song too!)

Long list of Alter Bridge I know, but I just think they’re one of the greatest bands of all time xD

Well thats all, I hope I helped you find some new bands to listen to :D Keep rockin’ my friend! :D

  12. Epicbandgeek says:

There’s a lot of synthesizer stuff out these days, a lot of autotuned voices, and it always kind of bugged me. It’s fun to listen to, but I can’t play this stuff on my guitar really! And it would be refreshing to find some more singers with voices they don’t change up. Like, natural talent. Remember why The Beatles were so awesome? Yeah. Anyway, I’m not cutting down today’s music, just, am I the only one who wishes there was some kind of 100% natural music with actual guitars, drums (that aren’t synthesized rock beats), real pianos, good voices that are actually the true voice of the singer? I actually have a theory that one day there will be like… like a musical revolution I guess. Because there isn’t really one thing that sticks out and is ‘the thing of 2011′ these days. Like, there was the age of Elvis, and I know Nirvana, Black Sabath, The Who all and don’t forget The Beatles were all the standing out stuff at one point or another. There’s not really a top band or singer for this age. I think Pink, Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Bruno Mars all are pretty natural. But I kind of think there’s got to be some musical group coming that will be natural and be ‘the thing of 2011′s musical world’ and set a new trend or something. Sounds stupid, but think about it. Whatdo you think about today’s music? I know my guitar teacher gets really mad about synths!

  13. ♥~Vamps~♥ says:

2011 isn’t living up to its music expectations, that’s for sure. Instead of discovering natural talent, they spouted out Rebecca Black and Cody Simpson, and other kids who are in it for the fame, not the music. Right now, to me, the best band is Paramore and best singer Bruno Mars.

    experiment for physics practical

  15. billrussell42 says:

Melde’s experiment is a scientific experiment carried out by the German physicist Franz Melde on the standing waves produced in a tense cable originally set oscillating by a tuning fork, later improved with connection to an electric vibrator. This experiment attempted to demonstrate that mechanical waves undergo interference phenomena. In the experiment, mechanical waves traveled in opposite directions from immobile points, called nodes. These waves were called standing waves by Melde since the position of the nodes and loops (points where the cord vibrated) stayed static.

Wave phenomena in nature have been investigated for centuries, some being some of the most controverted themes in the history of science, and so the case is with the wave nature of light. In the 17th century, Sir Isaac Newton described light through a corpuscular theory. The English physicist Thomas Young later contrasted Newton’s theories in the 18th century and established the scientific basis upon which rest the wave theories. At the end of the 19th century, at the peak of the Second Industrial Revolution, the creation of electricity as the technology of the era offered a new contribution to the wave theories. This advance allowed Franz Melde to recognize the phenomena of wave interference and the creation of standing waves. Later, the Scottish physicist James Clerk Maxwell in his study of the wave nature of light succeeded in expressing waves and the electromagnetic spectrum in a mathematical formula.

A string undergoing transverse vibration illustrates many features common to all vibrating acoustic systems, whether these are the vibrations of a guitar string or the standing wave nodes in a studio monitoring room. In this experiment the change in frequency produced when the tension is increased in the string – similar to the change in pitch when a guitar string is tuned – will be measured. From this the mass per unit length of the string / wire can be derived.

Finding the mass per unit length of a piece of string is also possible by using a simpler method – a ruler and some scales – and this will be used to check the results and offer a comparison.

Recently I’ve been having seizures and I am no longer allowed to drive for six months and can’t return to work until I can go for a large amount of time. So I’m stuck at home unable to leave the house for at least 2 weeks and I need to find a new game that I can play for approximately that time. That being said before someone gets on here with a smart crack at the fact that I shouldn’t be playing games while having seizures they aren’t the cause nor have I had one while playing video games. I have a very wide selection of games already so a list of games would be awesome. I’m a huge fan of RPGs but I like just about any kind of game except sports and racing games. Any ideas would be awesome! Thanks guys!

The games I already have are:
Assassin’s Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood, and Revelations; Batman Arkham City and Asylum; Battlefield 3; Bioshock 1 and 2; Borderlands; COD MW, WAW, MW2, Black Ops, and MW3; Civilization Revolution; Crackdown 1 and 2; Dante’s Inferno; Darksiders; Dark Souls; Dead Island; Dead Space 1 and 2; Deus Ex Human Revolution; Divinity II Eco Draconis; Dragon Age Origins and II; Dungeon Siege III; Elder Scrolls Oblivion and Skyrim; Enchanted Arms; Tom Clancy’s End War; Fable I, II, and III; Fallout 3, and New Vegas; Fear 3; Final Fantasy XIII, and XIII-2; Guitar Hero II and III; Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, Reach, and Wars; Tom Clancy’s Hawx; Hunted the Demon’s Forge; Jurassic Park the Game; The Last Remnant; Left 4 Dead 1 and 2; Legendary; Lord of the Rings Conquest, The Third Age, and War in the North; Mass Effect 1 and 2; Mercenaries 2 World in Flames; Quantum Theory; Rage; The Rise of the Argonauts; Sacred 2 Fallen Angels; Saints Row 2 and the Third; The Sims 3; Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Knights of the Old Republic II The Sith Lords, Battlefront II, The Force Unleashed, The Force Unleashed II; Too Human; and last but not least Transformers the Game.

I found this article on Wikipedia for you…I hope it helps.

Purple Rain” is a power ballad by Prince and the The Revolution. It was his third US single (second UK) and title track from the legendary 1984 album Purple Rain. The song is quite emotional and combines elements of rock and roll, pop and gospel music.

The song was recorded live at the Minneapolis club First Avenue in 1983. The performance was the live debut of Wendy Melvoin, and also netted the final three songs of the Purple Rain album, although the songs would undergo studio overdubs later. “Purple Rain” contained an extra verse about money that was edited out, as it diluted the emotional impact of the song.

“Purple Rain” opens with a lone guitar quickly followed by live drumming and a prominent organ, evoking images of church gospel music. Three verses are followed by a singalong chorus, with a building emotional delivery. After the final chorus, a searing guitar-solo takes over the song, delivering just as much impact as the lyrics. The song ends with a gentle piano solo and orchestral strings.

The emotional lyrics have multiple meanings; on the surface, they seem to be an apology from one lover to another, though on a deeper level, they become more of a spiritual allegory. It is a theory that “Purple Rain” is a metaphor for heaven, inspired by the testimonies of a woman who died on the operating table that the afterlife is full of falling purple rain.[citation needed]

The song is a staple of Prince’s live performances. He has played it on nearly every tour since 1984, except for a period after his name change when he avoided his older hits for a few years. In order to be released as a single, the song’s duration was shortened from 8:45 to 4:05. The song reached #2 in the U.S., and is often considered Prince’s signature song. He performed this during the halftime show at Super Bowl XLI (appropriately during a downpour). This was the last song on the set.

This song has been covered by dozens of other artists ranging from popular artists of various genres such as Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, LeAnn Rimes and The Waterboys to jazz and orchestral versions.[1] In March 2005, Q magazine placed it at number 40 in its list of the 100 Greatest Guitar Tracks. Rolling Stone ranked it #143 on their list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

The B-side, “God” is a much more overtly religious number (Prince’s most religious to date), recalling the book of Genesis. The song also features extensive vocal experimentation. Towards the end, Prince mentions “The Dance Electric”, which was a song given to former band member André Cymone. In the U.K., the 12″ single also included an instrumental of “God”, also known as “Love theme from Purple Rain” from which an edited portion appears in the film.
